The reason why I want to
study in MSA is because I like the city. Let alone the unique and tremendous football
atmosphere that existed all around Manchester, the city itself has many amazing
buildings and structures. Studying in MSA is also convenient for me to get to
any place in the UK by train worldly. Most importantly, it is one the best
schools in UK for studying architecture
and its well known. I am also able to have a chance to use the facilities and
resources of both universities of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan
University. Last year, I had been to Portugal with my family. During the trip,
I have visited one of the most famous buildings in Lisbon, the Belem tower,
which I have made a sketch of. Located on the northern bank of the Tagus river
in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belem, the tower is isolated along the
riverbank we can enter the tower by a small bridge that across the structures
and the shore. I couldn’t go inside the tower because there was a maintenance
being carried out, however, just by looking at this Portuguese late gothic world
heritage site from the outside. I could feel how important it was and how much
fire it has taken during the 16th- century.
I personally don’t know a lot
of architects,but, I like how frank Lloyd wright’s perspective of architecture.
Frank’s buildings are built according his idea and vision of the future. Those
buildings were certainly ahead of his time. I wish I’ll be able to do what he did,
foreseeing what the architectures in the future should be like and make a big
impact to the world. Moreover, also able to become a good “original interpreter
“ of my time. Ieoh Ming Pei is another architect that I like and get inspired
by. He is the designer of the Louvre Pyramid in Paris. The Louvre museum has
always been one of my desired destination for its artistic structure to the
hundreds of art collection which are inside it. I am so interested in the idea
of the dynamic tower. A tower has been planned to be a 80 storey, 1378 ft tall
rotating skyscraper. Though its construction hasn’t even started yet, but I
will be so excited to visit it in the future. I have been to many countries in
Euro, surprisingly, I have still not yet been to Paris yet. Besides the Louvre
museum, the Eiffel tower is the tallest and most famous structures in Paris,
attracting millions of people to have a look of this magnificent structure. I
can’t wait to set my footprint on her very soon.
